System DevelopmentThis is the really BIG job; and we know how to do ALL of it! You can start at any point along the way. Starting well down on the list can often mean a lot of rework. But this isn't necessarily always true. Our approach emphasizes maximum use of what you already have. After all, you paid good money for it! If you want us to teach you how to do this, we're ready for that too. Some ExamplesWe are currently developing and fielding a Windows based electronic timecard system. Features of the design include instantaneous validation of employee time card inputs, routing of submitted time cards to supervisors or alternates, and transmission of time card data to corporate processing facilities. The validation database for this system is centrally maintained at the company's corporate offices with automatic replication to remotely located operating units. This system is currently deployed at five different locations supporting several separate operating units of the company for desktop support and there two WEB sites that can support any employee anywhere in the company. Each operating unit operates using a separate database that resides in a server local to the unit. The system is built upon a 2-tier architecture consisting of presentation and business layers. The business layer consists of a single Visual Basic Class that is common to the desktop and WEB environments. Access to the underlying SQL Server database is provided via dynamically genereted SQL. The presentation layer exists a two versions; one a Class to provide for the WEB environment, the other as forms for the desktop. We are developing additional software that will be used to automatically distribute software updates to servers located at each unit. We have developed commercial products, including definition, design, implementation, and packaging design. One such product provided a check point and restart type of functionality for PCs. The primary target for this product was users of AutoCAD where complex drawing load times can be as much as 45 minutes. By checkpointing all necessary data, a reload of such a drawing could be performed in less than a minute.
